1 Month!

Our little Cali is 1 month old!

Time really does fly.  It feels like we only just brought 'baby sister' home and yet it also feels like she's always been with us.  It's so strange to look back and think about only having one child - we though we were so busy!  Haha.

At 1 month Cali...

Eats really well.  We're still exclusively breast feeding and she's generally eating every 1.5-2.5 hours during the day and every 2.5-4.5 hours at night.  Like her sister, she's a very efficient eater (maybe even more so!) and feeds generally last between 4 and 7 minutes.  The intense vomiting has mostly subsided - though every few days we still have a crazy large spit up to contend with they're slowly but surely getting smaller and farther apart.

Is gaining weight well!  We've only had her weighed one more time since my last update but she shot up to 10 lbs 1 oz!  That's over a pound of weight gain in 10 days.  Go Cali!

Getting a double chin from all that milk!

Is so gassy!  Oh my goodness, it's crazy. She farts like nobody's business - and they're LOUD and STINKY!  Though unlike her big sister, who used to poo 6-8 times a day at this age, Cali only fills her diaper once a day (or sometimes every other day).  I think that's why she's so gassy.  You win some, you lose some, lol.

Sleeps great for the most part (knock on wood!!).  Thus far she is MUCH more laid back about sleep than her big sister.  She falls asleep easily in the car, the stroller and her swing.  She's even happy when put down in her bouncy seat.  Ceci never did any of those things!  Cali also sleeps more than Ceci ever did.  Looking back at my logs from Ceci she slept about 15-16 hours a day on average in her first month.  Cali, on the other hand, generally sleeps 17.5-18.5 hours a day.  Which is noticeable not just on paper but throughout a day.

Snoozing her in bouncy seat
Passed out on my lap

Has a definite fussy period, from about 9:30pm to midnight.  (Though last night it ended by 11pm so hoping a new trend is starting!).  During this time she cluster feeds - sometimes as much as every 30min - wakes up easily, cries if she doesn't like how you're holding her, and is just generally grumpy.  It's not like the inconsolable screaming we had with Ceci so that's a plus, but it is quite late which means Jay and I usually don't get into bed until at least midnight - not ideal considering Ceci is up at 7:30!  She usually wakes to feed once or twice between then, so not too bad.

Went to her first swim lessons!  She liked the water, even though it was a little on the chilly side, and actually fell asleep during her first lesson.  She's not a fan of being held anyway other than facing me with her head on my shoulder, but we're working on it!

Very relaxed in the water
Just chilling in the pool with mom

Not pleased after I tried to change her position

Has so much hair!  It's fine and fluffy and a little curly in the front (especially after a bath) and it's so long in back.  It veering towards a mullet and reminds me a 70s ice hockey player, lol.

Is very expressive.  The times she is awake she keep us entertained with lots of silly faces - mostly of disapproval and judgement.

We just love this little girl to pieces and so happy to have her in our little family!

Here are the best out takes and alternates from Cali's 1 month photo shoot.
