Two Weeks Old!

Our little Cali is two weeks old!

It's been a busy second week of life for Cali!  We took our first trip in our new (at least to us...thanks Scott family!) double stroller to the park.

Had another bath with big sister:

Went on an adventure to the wildlife park at Alameda Gardens (sadly Cali didn't make it into any pictures as she was in the wrap with mumma!):

Overall we're all settling in really well.  Cali was struggling a bit with massive amounts of vomitting (we're talking 3oz of milk cascading from her like a fountain!) after most feeds but thankfully that has settled down to once every day or two (thank goodness!).  It never seemed to bother her but the piles of laundry, especially when it included all of our bedding and hers, was not fun.  She's feeding well and sleeping well - on good nights I get a 3-4hr stretch and then a couple 1.5-2.5hr chunks; on rough nights it's more like every 1.5-2 hrs, so still not bad.  Like her sister she is a fast and efficient feeder, generally only taking one side per feed for about 5-10min total.  The Health Visitor came by at the beginning of the week and Cali was still holding strong at 4.1kg (just over 9lbs) which is still a bit below her birth weight.  The HV wasn't concerned though as it was a different set of scales and the vomitting was just starting to settle down.  We'll get her weighed again this week and hopefully Cali will have put on a few ounces at least.

Ceci also continues to do well.  Nursery opened back up after a long Christmas break - extended because they moved, right down the street from our house!  So that's incredibly handy because it's a short 2 minute walk now instead of having to load everyone in the car for a 10min drive.  The new space is also gorgeous and Ceci is a very happy camper - she stayed and played for 1.5hrs at the open morning!  I'm definitely going to miss this nursery when we move!

She also had lots of fun on our adventures this week, including a trip to a new park at Alameda Gardens where there was a built in trampoline - her favorite!

And Ceci still continues to be a great big sister.  She loves holding Cali and giving her kisses, and especially helping with bath time (anything involving water play is a big hit with Ceci).  I was trying to take a video of Ceci sweetly saying hi to Cali but though I missed that moment, I caught an unexpected one - completely on her own, Ceci picked up a burp cloth, put her over her shoulder like mumma and dadda do, and asked to pick up Cali.  It was such a surprise, and so sweet!  She really does notice and remember everything!

All in all, it's been a pretty great week.  Now onward and upward to Jay going back to work and the big move! (Eek!)
